Keep Your Dog Indoor:
People with an old-school mentality leave the dogs outside in freezing temperatures because they have fur. But the actual thing is that the fur can't completely secure them from freezing cold. It will be like a person wearing a light jacket and trying to sleep on the frozen ground. Your pooch can play outside, walk in the snow and cold weather, but keeping him outside the whole night in a freezing temperature can be dangerous.
It can be difficult to avoid rock salt, which is scattered on the sidewalks and on the street. You will find the salt on driveways and on sidewalks in suburbs, commercial areas. Salt can burn your pooch's paws. Make sure, you avoid the areas that are heavily salted during snow storms. You can always carry a towel with you to wipe your pooch's paws anytime you are walking on a salted area. Wiping the paws with a damp towel can also save them from licking away the irritants, which cause problems internally as well.
Carry a Towel on Walks and to the Dog Park:
You should carry the bath towels with you, if you are going for a long walk or for trips to the dog park with your furry pal. So, that you can wipe their paws and legs, if they are wet and icy from the snow. If they are wet, wipe away the moisture gently and then wrap your dog in the towel. This will help to bring their core temperature up and keep them away from suffering from hypothermia.
Keep Away From Antifreeze:
Make sure, that you keep your dog out of reach of Antifreeze. This has a sweet smell, which attracts your pet and it can be deadly when ingested.

A good regime is that your pet should drink more water each day. Your pet needs to drink between 1/2 and1 ounce of water per pound of body weight. How much water your dog needs each day depends on his age, size, diet, activity level and weather conditions.
Ways To Keep Dog Hydrated At Ease
If you feed your dog wet food with rich nutrients and an appropriate diet, then he is getting some of the water needs met with each meal. Your dog may not drink more water from his bowl. But, if your dog like to eat dry food, make sure he drinks proper amount of water, to compensate for the lack of moisture in his diet.
It is important that you make your puppy to drink small amount of water every couple of hours and should be closely monitored. You can even encourage your pup to drink water by adding flavors in his water bowl.
Importance of Keeping Your Pet Hydrated
It is a good idea to hydrate your pet during the play time or exercise. You can take short breaks in between and give him water so that he don't get dehydrated.
It is really essential to take care of your pet during the warmer months of the year. You need to keep an eye to monitor your furry pal's water intake to ensure he is adequately hydrated.
If you want to make sure, your pooch is hydrated or not you can examine him by lifting up his scruff (that is the part of the skin at back of his neck) and let it go. It the skin gets back quickly to the place, this shows he is well hydrated. If the skin goes back slowly and form a sort of tent, this shows your pooch is dehydrated.
Another way to check is by looking at your canine's gum. Dry or sticky gums indicate dehydration, here your pets body needs more water and the moist, slick gums shows, it has a good level of hydration.

Dog owners usually come up with their sharing that their dogs understand their feelings very well --- and to support this statement, now science has also come up with the proof. Recently, a group of animal researchers and scientists has come up with a study that confirms that dogs know when a person is angry, sad or happy and they can very well understand the difference between the two.
Ludwig Huber – a prominent researcher at Veterinary Medicine Vienna's Messerli Research Institute stated that through their studies they have found that the dogs can distinguish between angry and happy expressions in humans. He further added that the four paw animals can decipher that these two expressions have different meanings, and they can do this not only for people they know well, but even for the strangers – very well they have never contacted them before.
To dig deeper on finding how well can canines differentiate facial expressions, Huber and his team had trained the canine babies to figure out either happiness or anger by studying the pictures. The canines were shown 15 different faces – just the partial faces were shown shunning the whole picture. The aim was to see whether the dogs could understand emotions by simple looking at the eyes or the mouth. Dogs who identified the happy faces were treated with a reward and others who identified the angry faces were also rewarded with treats.
Following this, the dogs have to undergo four different tests.
In this study, researchers directed dogs to find either the happy face or the sad face, and the dogs selected the ones by pressing their noses to a touch screen.
At the end of the test, the dogs ended up selecting the angry and happy faces correctly 70 out of 100 – which can’t be taken as a luck as the trained canines picked up the right facial expressions. Above all, dogs were able to find the happy faces quite accurately and based on this, researchers acknowledge that canines can feel the emotions by the facial expressions. And, the study claimed that the dogs can apply what they’ve learnt in the new situations too. So, once a dog learns what her angry master looks like, she could apply the same to recognize an angry stranger.
Moreover, the study has also aided to find out that the dogs know that the smiling face is related to positive feelings while a frown is associated to something negative.
Overall, according to the study, we can say that the dogs used their memories of real emotional human faces to fulfil the deciphering task.

Too Expensive – Making you realize the importance of budget during parenthood
Many think that having a puppy is all enough and never count on the expenses. But that just not completes anything. This bundle of joy along with them brings a huge cornucopia of expenses ranging from vaccinations, dog food, toys and chews, grooming and regular vet visits. Moreover, when your puppy needs any emergency medical care, you definitely need to spend those hundred bucks.
On the same notes, having a baby opens up a new gateway of expenses. You need to really spend a few more on vaccinations, daily care, clothes, baby food, and many more. It is estimated that a family spends $ 200 alone on diapers. Isn’t that far more from your budget and definitely your furry pal helps you plan your budget for the new baby.
Cleaning – You are ALWAYS on this TASK
Food tit bits on the floor, the couch sprayed, the bed sheets trampled…well that is all you notice with your fur baby going around. You will find that at times they are mischievous. As a pet owner, you can be quite busy with all the cleaning stuff to be going around with your furry pal spreading the trash, shredding a piece of paper or wetting the bed. Well, that hones you with parenting skill as babies are no less in creating a wreck on a living room or the kitchen where you have to please yourself with cleaning the mess.
While growing up, your furry ball requires your constant attention. Whether you are working on the computer or trying to groom yourself, there are those cute eyes staring with a waging tail and a tongue hanging. From the morning till night when you have to go under your sheets, you need to check on your puppy to train them, feed them or take them on the walk and they are there wherever you go. On the same platform, a baby would require your constant attention – a running nose, spilling the milk or the potty job.
Well, a puppy teaches you good parenting lessons taking you on a ride of crests and toughs of parenthood. Your furry bundle of joy has surely implied a path to show you how lovely (yes with little tears in those eyes) it is to have a baby and love the journey of cradling up a newborn.
